If you want to find out more about the recently book, 'Relational Ethics in Psychotherapy and Counselling Private Practice', you might find it useful to read a review from the leading therapy magazine.

From Therapy Today - 'According to this book, almost 70% of BACP members work in private practice. By focusing on the business side of private practice the authors cover topics such as getting started, practice management, marketing, contracting, social awareness, supervision and more. The sense of solidarity alluded to in the title comes across throughout because, as Binstead and Sarantakis note, private practice can be liberating but lonely. Their book offers a supportive and structured way of navigating this isolation and disorientation.

I like the broad perspective offered by this book. The authors employ a "three-dimensional model" to discuss key issues, which takes in the respective viewpoints of clients, therapists and society as a whole. Case studies appear throughout the book to illustrate ethical dilemmas. Binstead and Sarantakis provide their own commentaries on these studies, and I found it helpful to read what these two experienced practitioners had to say. I also liked the book's exercises, which are designed to prompt deeper personal reflections or generate action points.

The authors don't shy away from the potential challenges of working in private practice, but they encourage readers to address key issues in a confident and balanced way. So whether you're a novice or an old hand, if you're one of the 70% then I recommend this book.'
